USKFI Brown and Black Belt Course

The USKFI held a very successful brown and black belt course, instructed by Senseis Michael Sherlock and David Royle, recently. To begin, the class practised different freestyle punching combinations, working on their speed and co-ordination. After that they worked on several geri, or kicking, combinations before combining these into attacking and defending sequences with partners.

The second half of the class was spent working on kata, with different belts working on katas specific to their grades. Higher grades also worked on katas of their choice, before finishing with kata Unsu. With several of those present training hard for various dan gradings this Autumn, the Senseis provided these students with invaluable instruction on areas for improvement in a relaxed but very vigorous atmopshere!
