Leeanne Royle wins Sports star of the month

The USKFI would like to send out a very big congratulations to Leeanne Royle who picked up an award at the Dublin Sports Star of the Year award ceremony last night in the luxurious Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley.  It was an honour for members of the Corduff Karate Club to be invited to this prestigious event and were delighted with the reception they received. It was Leeanne's night of course and continuing on with her fantastic run of wins last year she won the very well deserved award for the sports star for the month of June 2011.
I suppose we could say this is the crowning achievement so far of Leeanne's short but very successful karate career and at just 12 years old her dedication and devotion to her sport is outstanding and it paid off immensely last year. She is an exceptional student, competitor and is a fantastic role model to all of our young up and coming students.
The growing successes of the Leeanne and the USKFI team is down to the very hard work each and every competitor puts in on an often daily basis, the dedication and encouragement of their coaches, Sensei Michael Sherlock and Sensei David Royle.

The USKFI and the Corduff Karate Club would like to say a very special thank you to Rob Heigh the sports editor of the Gazette Group Newspapers for his fantastic articles and everybody at the Clarion Hotel for a fabulous night. We would also like to thank all our students for their hard work and dedication and let's hope 2012 is as successful as 2011 for the USKFI.
