USKFI Squad Physical Testing
Expected to finish at approximately 1pm. Registration details sent via Google classroom to squad members along with relevant information. The following tests will be carried out: (see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqhu3I_NCdA )
Biometric data - Height and weight
Functional Movement Test overhead squat/ hamstring test/ Shoulder mobility test.
Double hamstring test (flexibility)
Agility test (t. test)
Anaerobic power test: med ball throw. upper body
Anaerobic power - long jump
Anaerobic capacity test - 300 metres shuffle.
Aerobic testing - Millar 20 metre run
USKFI Dan Grade preparation course
To support our members as they prepare for Dan grading we are holding the second of five classes with each class having a different theme to cover the dan grading syllabus.

FREE Orange - Brown Belt Introduction to Kumite Course
Whether you're new to kumite, or have experience already and want to improve your skills and confidence in kumite, then our Introduction to Kumite course is for you! Instructed by our Squad Coach Sensei David Royle 6th dan and Assistant Squad Coach Sensei Lisa Meagher 3rd dan, the class will focus on:
defensive strategies
closing distance using multiple angles
effective timing, techniques and distance
effective counter attacks
timing
By the end of the class you will have more tools and strategies to bring your kumite to the next level. This is not a course to be missed. Open to all Orange-Brown Belts.

USKFI Dan Grade preparation course
To support our members as they prepare for Dan grading we are holding the first of five classes on Jan 18th with each class having a different theme to cover the dan grading syllabus.
Instructed by Sensei Jennifer Prendergast 6th dan, first class will focus on the khion section of the grading where participants will work on the correct execution of various punching and kicking techniques and then incorporate those into the different khion combinations. Participants will also work on their own special dan combinations with focus on correct timing, kimae and execution. The second part of the class will focus on a compulsory kata and participants' choice kata.

Brown/Black Belt Course
We invite all our brown and black belts you to shake off that Christmas inertia and ease yourself back into training for the first USKFI course of 2025 with Sensei David Royle and Sensei Michael Sherlock.
Brown Belts will work on kata Bassai Dai, linking movements with bunkai to aid overall understanding. You will also focus on refining movements of the kata by learning shifting of weight and effective kicking which will help your overall kata performance. Black belts, will focus on khion techniques and linking these with finer details of kata in order to improve your overall understanding and execution of kata .

USKFI Orange - Black Belt Kumite Course
Join us for a Kumite Development Course designed for karate practitioners of all levels, from foundational to advanced. This session will focus on the principles and techniques of Jiyu Ippon Kumite and Kaishi Ippon Kumite, with tailored drills and scenarios to match your grade and skill level.

Seminar and Dan grading with Sensei Frank Brennan
The USKFI welcomes Sensei Frank Brennan for our November Brown and Black Belt Course and Dan grading.
First class 10.00 - 11.15 followed by a short break with second class 11.45 - 1.15. Dan grading begins at 2.15pm.
Those grading are already registered for the course and don’t need to register\pay. Usual family discounts apply
